The Four Seasons, one of the most iconic American rock and roll and doo-wop bands, was formed in 1960 in Newark, New Jersey sometimes called "Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons". The band's original members were Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi. Since their formation, they have released several hit singles including "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," and "Rag Doll." Throughout their career, The Four Seasons has sold over 100 million records worldwide and earned numerous awards. In 1962, The Four Seasons released their debut album entitled Sherry & 11 Others. This album featured the hit single "Sherry" which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks. This song also earned them their first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. In 1963, they released their second album Big Girls Don't Cry and 12 Others which featured the hit single of the same name. This song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for another five weeks as well as earning them two more Grammy Award nominations for Record of The Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The Four Seasons continued to have success throughout the 1960s with hits such as "Walk Like a Man" (1963), "Let's Hang On!" (1965), and "Working My Way Back to You" (1966).
In 1967, they won their first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Group Performance with their hit single "Dawn (Go Away)." They also released several other successful albums during this period including Rag Doll (1964), Working My Way Back To You (1966), Genuine Imitation Life Gazette (1969), Half & Half (1970), and Chameleon (1971). In 1975, The Four Seasons reunited after taking an extended break from recording new music. They released an album entitled Who Loves You which featured the title track that became a number-one hit on the adult contemporary charts in both Canada and America. The band also embarked on several successful tours throughout the 1980s and 1990s playing to sold-out crowds all over North America and Europe. The Four Seasons are still active today performing at various venues around the world including Las Vegas casinos where they have been performing since 2006! In 2021 they announced that they will be embarking on a 2023 tour across North America!
