Spiritualized is an English rock band formed in 1990 in Rugby, Warwickshire, by Jason Pierce, formerly of Spacemen 3. The band has released eight Spiritualized studio albums to date, including their most recent album, "Everything Was Beautiful," which was released in April 2022. Their music is often described as a blend of neo-psychedelic space rock and shoegaze. The band’s first album, "Laser Guided Melodies," was released in 1992 and met with critical acclaim. It featured the single "Soul On Fire," which became one of their most popular songs and helped launch the band into the mainstream. The follow-up album "Pure Phase" was released in 1995 and featured the singles "Electricity" and "I Think I'm in Love". Since then, Spiritualized has gone on to release five more Spiritualized albums, including 2003's "Amazing Grace", 2008's "Songs in A&E", 2012's "Sweet Heart, Sweet Light", 2017's "And Nothing Hurt" and 2022's "Everything Was Beautiful". Spiritualized tours extensively throughout Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and South America over the years, playing festivals such as Glastonbury Festival (UK), Primavera Sound (Spain), and Coachella (USA). Spiritualized has been nominated for several awards throughout its career, including two Grammy Award nominations for Best Alternative Music Album for Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space (1998) and Songs in A&E (2009). They have also been nominated for numerous NME Awards over the years, including Best Live Band (1999), Best Album (2000), and Best British Band (2001).
