  • Robert Plant is one of the most legendary figures in rock and roll, and he's still going strong today. Robert Plant was born on August 20, 1948, in West Bromwich, England. His father, Robert C. Plant, was a qualified civil engineer who worked in the Royal Air Force during World War II. His mother, Ivy Baker, was a woman of strong character who had been an active member of the Women's Institute and held some important positions in the local community. Plant's parents divorced when he was very young, and he was raised by his mother and her extended family. Plant had a happy childhood, but he was always something of a loner. He was an avid reader, and he loved nature and the outdoors. In 1965, he began his music career and achieved fame as the frontman of Robert Plant Led Zeppelin. The Robert Plant band released a total of nine albums before disbanding in 1980. To this day, he is still celebrated for his accomplishments with Led Zeppelin. When he was 12 years old, he started playing the guitar, and he soon began writing his songs. In 1966, Plant formed a band called The Band of Joy with some school friends. The group played a mix of blues, country, and rock music, and they quickly developed a following in the local music scene. In 1968, The Band of Joy relocated to London, where they caught the attention of record producer Glyn Johns. Johns helped The Band of Joy land a record deal with Atlantic Records, and their self-titled debut album was released in 1969. The album was a commercial disappointment, but it did contain one of Plant's most popular songs, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You." After The Band of Joy disbanded, Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation had some journey. In late 1968, he was recruited by Jimmy Page to join the new hard rock band that Page was putting together, which would later become Led Zeppelin. On Thursday, October 7th, 2021, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss debuted their newly crafted single "High And Lonesome", a song sure to have you singing along! Led Zeppelin is considered to be one of the most important and innovative rock bands of all time, and they have inspired countless other artists. Plant's powerful and emotive vocals are a major reason why Led Zeppelin is so highly regarded. He is also known for his flamboyant stage presence and his willingness to experiment with different musical styles. In recent years, Plant has continued to be a successful solo artist, and he has collaborated with several other high-profile musicians. His unique blend of rock, blues, and world music has won him a large and loyal following all over the world. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are poised to embark on a joint tour, gracing the stage with their harmonious partnership. With a lineup of twenty-four dates across North America in the spring and summer of 2024, fans can eagerly anticipate an unforgettable musical experience. The duo is currently on tour, showcasing their latest collaborative masterpiece, "Raise the Roof," which was released in 2021. Join them on this musical journey as they captivate audiences with their remarkable talent and melodic harmonies. T Bone Burnett, the producer of Raise the Roof, has garnered three Grammy nominations last year. The nominations include Best Americana Album, Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and Best American Roots Song for the single "High and Lonesome."
