Pepper is an American alternative reggae band from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, formed in 1997. The band consists of singer/guitarist Kaleo Wassman, bassist Bret Bollinger, and drummer Yesod Williams. Since its inception, the group has released nine studio Pepper albums, two live albums, and multiple EPs. Pepper's debut album was released on July 21st, 1998 via Volcom Entertainment entitled Give'n It. The album featured fan favorites such as “Stone Love” and a cover version of Sublime’s “What I Got”. This effort provided the necessary exposure to land them a record deal with major label Reprise Records and with that came to their major label debut "Kona Town" in 2000. Over the years the Pepper band has made a name for themselves by being one of the most reliable touring bands out there performing at major music festivals.
The band also did Lollapalooza, Warped Tour and completing multiple US tours with 311, Snoop Dogg & Cypress Hill along the way. In 2006 after releasing two albums on Atlantic Records - In With The Old (2004) & No Shame (2006) - Pepper signed with Law Records and released Pink Crustaceans & Good Vibrations which was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album Category as well as making them Hawaiian Music Award winners for Best Reggae Album twice; once in 2007 & again in 2009. The following year Pepper returned to their original label Volcom Entertainment and re-released 'No Shame' along with all Red Hot Chili Peppers covers album 'Freshen Up'. Fans were then introduced to 2011's 'Stitches', featuring singles 'Turn Around' and 'Give It Up'.
Pepper followed this up with 2013's self-titled album that spawned singles like 'F*ck Around (All Night)' which landed commercial success when it was picked up by Anheuser-Busch for an ad campaign in 2014 featuring model Jerry O'Connell representing Bud Light Beer. In 2015 Pepper celebrated 20 years together by releasing an acoustic version of their long-time classic album 'Kona Town'. Later that year they dropped three brand new songs off their latest album OHANA, which featured the fan-favorite single "Start You Up". More recently the group continued touring heavily around the United States playing headline shows as well as festivals before teaming up with Pacific Dub for the "Summer 2018 Tour". Pepper can now be found continuing to tour relentlessly across both North America & Europe whenever possible while still finding time to work on new Pepper between Pepper tour dates.
