About Pat Benatar

Pat Benatar is one of the most popular singers of all time. Pat Benatar was born on January 10, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, Andrew Andretti, was an insurance broker, and her mother, Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, was a secretary. Pat began taking voice lessons at the age of eight and started performing in school plays and talent shows. After graduating from high school, Pat attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She left the school after one semester to pursue a career in Pat Benatar music. In 1971, she joined the rock band “Crazy World of Arthur Brown” as a backup singer. The following year, she recorded her first single, “Day GLO”, with the Pat Benatar band “Mandalay”. In 1974, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo began writing songs together. The following year, they released their first album, “In the Heat of the Night”. 

The album included the hit single “Heartbreaker”, which reached number 23 on the Billboard charts. Over the next few years, Pat released several successful albums and singles, including “We Belong”, “Love is a Battlefield”, and “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”. In 1985, she was nominated for four Grammy Awards and won two, for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. In the early 1990s, Pat took a break from music to focus on her family. She and Neil have two daughters, Haley and Hana. In 2003, she released the album “Go”, which was followed by “Welcome to the Real World” in 2007. Pat Benatar continues to tour and perform around the world. She is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with more than 30 million records sold. Among her famous songs are We Belong, Invincible, Love is a Battlefield, Promises in the Dark and We Live for Love, and Hell is for Children.
