Naked Eyes are an English new wave group formed in Bath, England in 1984. The group had four UK Top 40 singles and released three albums between 1984 and 1987. The members of the group were singer Pete Byrne and keyboardist Rob Fisher, who had previously worked together in the band Babel. Their first single, "A Forest", was released in May 1982 and was a minor hit in the UK, reaching No. 59 on the charts. This was followed by their debut album, Burning Bridges.
In 1984, the group released their second album, Promises and Lies, which was a commercial success, reaching No. 1 in the UK and spawning the hit singles "Always Something There to Remind Me" and "Promises, Promises". The group's third album, Naked Eyes, was released in 1986 and reached No. 7 in the UK. It included the single "Heart of Glass", a cover of the Blondie song. The group disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 2000 for a series of live shows. In 2004, they released a new album, standards, which featured covers of classic pop and jazz standards. The group has continued to perform live and release new albums periodically since then.
