George Thorogood has been a household name since the early 1980s. He is an American musician, singer, and songwriter from Wilmington, Delaware, who has released 16 studio albums and sold over 15 million records worldwide. He is best known for his hit songs "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone." His music style has been described as a combination of blues-rock, hard rock, and boogie rock. Thorogood began his career in 1973 with his first album Better Than The Rest. It was followed by two more albums: Move It On Over (1978) and More George Thorogood & The Destroyers (1980). These albums featured some of his most popular songs such as "Who Do You Love," "Move It On Over," and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." In 1982 he released Bad To The Bone which included the hit single of the same name.
This song became one of the most recognizable songs in rock history and was featured in numerous movies, TV shows, and commercials. Thorogood's next album Maverick was released in 1985 which featured the hits "Willie And The Hand Jive" and "Get A Haircut." Throughout his career he has achieved many awards including three Grammy nominations for Best Traditional Blues Album in 1997 for Boogie People; Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 2000 for “Madison Blues”; and Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2004 for Ride 'Til I Die. He also won a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album with Born To Be Bad (1988). In 2001, he became an inductee into Hollywood's Rock Walk Of Fame.
