Felix Cavaliere is an American musician and the lead singer for The Young Rascals. He is also a songwriter, record producer, and keyboard player. While attending Syracuse, he joined The Stereos and then started The Escorts. The Escorts had a minor hit in 1964 with the song "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore", which Cavaliere co-wrote. In 1965, The Young Rascals (later simply called The Rascals) formed. The band's first single, "Good Lovin'", reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966. The Rascals were one of the most popular bands of the 1960s, with a string of hits that included "Groovin'", "People Got to Be Free", and "A Beautiful Morning". Cavaliere's songwriting skills were an important factor in the success of The Rascals. He wrote or co-wrote many of the band's hits, including "Good Lovin'", "Groovin'", and "People Got to Be Free". After The Rascals disbanded in 1972, Cavaliere pursued a solo career. He released his first solo album, Dream Along with Me, in 1974. The album was not a commercial success, but its title track did receive some airplay. In 1975, Cavaliere formed a new group called Felix Cavaliere's Rascals. The group had moderate success with the singles "I Wanna Wake Up with You" and "Easy Love". Cavaliere has continued to tour and record both as a solo artist and with Felix Cavaliere's Rascals. He has also released several solo albums, including Destiny in 1986 and Joy in 2009. Cavaliere was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Rascals in 1997.
