Extreme is an American rock band formed in 1985, composed of vocalist Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger, and drummer Kevin Figueiredo. The band quickly rose to fame with their 1990 album Pornograffiti, which featured the hit singles "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted". Extreme's success continued with their third album III Sides To Every Story (1992), which featured the hit single "Rest In Peace". The album was certified platinum in the US and gold in Canada. With their fourth album Waiting For The Punchline (1995), they achieved even more success as it went double platinum in the US. The band's fifth studio album, Saudades de Rock (2008), marked a return to form for Extreme. It was met with critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike, earning them a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the single "Ghost". Extreme has also released several live albums throughout their career including Take Us Alive (2010) which received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
