  • Eric Johnson is an American guitarist, vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. With the launch of his first album 'Seven Worlds' in 1978, Johnson's music has captivated millions around the globe and earned him worldwide acclaim. He is a founding member of the rock band Pearl Jam and has been its rhythm guitarist since 1990. He was ranked number nine on Gibson's "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time" in 2003; Johnny Depp ranked him number 28 on the same list in 2009. In 2002, Johnson was awarded Guitar Player magazine's "Legend Award". His extraordinary combination of instrumentals and vocal pieces was so captivating that it resulted in his song, "Zap," being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Subsequently, this earned him a spot on the cover of Guitar Player magazine. Eric Johnson's Venus Isle is an album that will leave you mesmerized, a timeless classic. From its soulful guitar licks to the intricate soundscapes, Eric Johnson has created something truly special here. He has been described as one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of his generation. Johnson is an accomplished Sessions musician, appearing on numerous records in the 1990s and 2000s with artists such as Brad, Neil Young, Victoria Williams, R.E.M., Billy Joel, Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has also worked extensively as a record producer and engineer. In 1991, Johnson produced the album Dirt by the Seattle-based grunge band Alice in Chains. He also co-produced the band's subsequent albums, Jar of Flies (1994) and Alice in Chains (1995), and was credited as a musician on the latter two albums. In 1996, Johnson played lead guitar on "I Stay Away", a single from Jar of Flies. In his song "Tribute to Jerry Reed" found on the album Bloom, he has paid tribute to one of music's most legendary players: Jerry Reed. He also contributed background vocals on the Alice in Chains song "Would?", which appeared on the soundtrack to the 1992 film Singles. Since his teenage years, Johnson has been ascending the ranks of musical fame with a remarkable grassroots rise. He gained local acclaim while performing in Austin clubs as part of Mariani's psychedelic rock band. That early success foreshadowed what would become two decades worth of Johnson's success today. Johnson has also made cameo appearances in films and television. In 1992, he appeared as himself in the Cameron Crowe-directed film, Singles. He also appeared in an episode of the television show Diff'rent Strokes, playing the part of a guitar teacher. In 1993, Johnson made a cameo appearance in the Jim Carrey comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, playing the part of a heavy metal rocker. His 1996 tour with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani took stores by storm the year after. Subsequently, he became a session musician for well-known artists such as Cat Stevens and Christopher Cross. It was a standout performance on the acclaimed Austin City Limits TV show in 1984 that launched his illustrious career. In 1998, he made a cameo appearance in the Beastie Boys' music video for "Body Movin' (Fatboy Slim Remix)". In 2007, Johnson appeared in the John Malkovich film Redbelt. Eric Johnson rarely performs solo, usually accompanied by a drummer and bass player to create an awe-inspiring show. Admired as one of the most talented musicians of the 21st century, his skills and artistry have captivated audiences worldwide. Don’t miss out on this concert and track your favourite artists!
