Caifanes is a rock band from Mexico City. Formed in 1987, the group achieved international fame during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Caifanes is widely considered to be one of the most influential bands in the Latin rock scene. The band's musical style is a mix of rock, pop, and experimental music. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Saúl Hernández, guitarist Diego Herrera, bassist Javier Bátiz, and drummer Alfonso Andrés. Caifanes has been cited as an influence by many popular Latin rock bands, such as Maná and Jaguares. They are also credited with helping to break down barriers between Mexican rock music and the mainstream American rock market.
