Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist, and co-founder of the iconic hard rock band Kiss, is an American musician who has been rocking stages since 1973. With his signature persona of The Spaceman, Ace Frehley has become synonymous with classic rock and roll. His career began when he joined the band Wicked Lester in 1972, which eventually evolved into Kiss Ace Frehley. As one of the founding members of the group, Ace Frehley wrote some of their most memorable songs including "Shock Me," "Cold Gin" as well as "New York Groove." He also created some of their most iconic looks such as his legendary makeup design featuring a lightning bolt across his face. As a solo artist, Ace Frehley released his self-titled debut album in 1978 which featured hits like "Rip It Out" and "Snow Blind". This album was certified Platinum by the RIAA and was later ranked number 26 on Guitar World's list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Albums Of All Time.
He then followed up with his second album Trouble Walkin' (1989), which included popular singles such as "Hide Your Heart" and "Back In The New York Groove". His third studio album Anomaly (2009) was met with critical acclaim and peaked at number 27 on Billboard 200. Ace Frehley also released Origins Vol 1 in 2016, a covers album featuring guest appearances from Slash, John 5, and Mike McCready among others. In 2021, Ace Frehley announced that he would be embarking on a 2023 tour to celebrate fifty years since joining Kiss. This tour will feature all the classic hits from both his solo career and time with Kiss including fan favorites like “Rock Soldiers” and “Deuce”. Fans can expect to hear classics such as “Love Gun” along with new material from Origins Vol 2 (2020).
