About 80s Rock Tour

80s Rock Tour is a musical tribute to Foreigner, Journey, and Asia.

Mick Jones and Ian McDonald, both from Britain and former members of King Crimson, decided to form Foreigner in 1976 with American vocalist Lou Gramm. The band achieved success with their very first album, which contained the hits "Feels Like the First Time" and "Cold as Ice."

The group's most recent albums, Unusual Heat (1991), with Gramm absent due to the band's switch to synthesizers, Mr. Moonlight (1994), with Gramm back on vocals, and Can't Slow Down (2009), again without Gramm, were not huge commercial successes; instead, the highest chart positions were attained in Germany, where the most recent album peaked at No. 16. With over 80 million records sold globally, including 37.5 million in the US, Foreigner is one of the best-selling bands of all time. Leader Mick Jones has been the only original team member still active for a long time.

Journey was formed in 1973 by former members of Santana. Their style of music is a mix of rock and pop. The band's most successful period was in the late 1970s and early 1980s when they released a string of hit singles, including "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Any Way You Want It."

The 2017 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame included Journey. Steve Perry, the band's lead vocalist, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, and Gregg Rolie on keyboards, Ross Valory on bass, and Aynsley Dunbar and Steve Smith on drums were all inducted.

Asia was formed in 1981 by Yes keyboardist Geoff Downes and former Buggles singer/guitarist Trevor Horn. The band's debut album, Asia, was a huge success, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. The album contained the hits "Heat of the Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell."

Before the original four band members came back together in 2006, the group underwent a number of line-up changes. As a result, John Payne's career as Asia's frontman from 1991 until Wetton's comeback in 2006 is continued by a group called Asia Featuring John Payne. The original lineup was once again shattered in 2013 when guitarist Sam Coulson took Howe's place after his retirement from the group. After a few years of inactivity, Billy Sherwood (of Yes, World Trade, and Circa:) joined Journey for a summer 2017 tour in Asia in place of a sick Wetton (who passed away shortly after). The band took another break after the tour was over until resurfacing in 2019 with Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal taking the place of both Sherwood on vocals and Coulson on guitar. Marc Bonilla replaced Thal as the group's guitarist and vocalist in 2022.
