About The Four Tops and Temptations

The Four Tops and Temptations are two of the most successful groups in music history, with a combined total of over 200 million records sold. Both groups were founded in Detroit in the early 1960s, and both groups had their first hit singles in 1964. The Four Tops' "Baby I Need Your Lovin'" and the Temptations' "The Way You Do the Things You Do" were both Top 10 hits, and the two groups would go on to have dozens of other charting singles. The Four Tops are one of the few Motown groups that have never had a lineup change, with the original members remaining together for over 50 years. The group's most successful period was in the 1960s and 1970s, when they had a string of Top 10 hits, including "Reach Out I'll Be There," "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)," and "Ain't No Woman (Like the One I've Got)." The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In the last two decades, this band has earned tremendous respect for their work.

Their achievements include a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1997, induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998, and Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999; they received an esteemed Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 as well! The Temptations have had a more turbulent history, with a number of lineup changes over the years. The group's classic 1960s lineup, which included Otis Williams (founding member), Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and David Ruffin, is considered one of the best vocal groups of all time. The group has had several other successful periods, including the 1970s with Dennis Edwards as the lead singer, and the 1980s and 1990s with Ali-Ollie Woodson. The Temptations were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Duke Fakir expressed his delight at returning to the UK, stating that it "always feels like home" and they receive such a great reception from their celebrated fans. To him, performing for British audiences is especially meaningful - making every show a special occasion.

The band heralded, "We've had such memorable trips to the UK since we first started in the '60s. We look forward with eager anticipation to seeing all of you this autumn!" From Cloud Nine to Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me), the crowd goes wild when they hear Psychedelic Shack and Papa Was A Rolling Stone - these timeless classics remain a favorite amongst fans after all of these years. Boasting a roster of over 20 proficient musicians throughout their storied career, Otis Williams is the sole remaining original member from the quintet comprised of Terry Weeks, Joe Herndon, Ron Tyson and Bruce Williamson. The band said, "We will miss fans when the tour is over." The show will be headlined by Abdul ‘Duke' Fakir, the original founder of the group, alongside Lawrence Payton Jr., Lewis McNeir and Spike Deleon.
