Little Anthony, born Jerome Anthony Gourdine, is an American singer and songwriter who began his career in the late 1950s. He was one of the founding members of the doo-wop group Little Anthony and The Imperials, which had a string of hits from 1958 to 1965. Little Anthony's first single with The Imperials was "Tears on My Pillow," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958. It sold over one million copies and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA. Following this success, he released his second hit single with The Imperials "Goin' Out Of My Head," which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964. In 1965, Little Anthony and The Imperials released their third hit single "Hurt So Bad," which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned them a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rhythm & Blues Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals. Throughout his career, Little Anthony has been honored with numerous awards including being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 as well as receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Rhythm & Blues Foundation in 2010. His music has also been featured on many movie soundtracks such as Goodfellas (1990), Pulp Fiction (1994), and Ocean's Eleven (2001). In addition to his work with The Imperials, Little Anthony has also released several solo albums including I'm On The Outside Looking In (1964), Out Of Sight! Out Of Mind! (1965) and Dance With Me: Anthology 1962-1989 (1995). In 2021, after more than 50 years since he started his musical journey, Little Anthony is still going strong!
