Rexx Life Raj, better known as Rexx Wright, is an American rapper and singer. He has four albums to his credit, including the Father Figure trilogy, as well as four EPs. Wright is from Berkeley, California. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Wright's music career began in the early 2010s when he was just out of high school. He recorded his own material, using a Casio keyboard to make the rhythms and a karaoke machine to sing, selling discs at school. He released his first mixtape, Young & Reckless, in 2012. The mixtape caught the attention of record label execs, and Wright was soon signed to Empire Distribution. His debut album, Father Figure, was released in 2015. Wright's music is a mix of rap, R&B, and pop. He has collaborated with a number of well-known artists, including E-40, G-Eazy, and Kehlani. In 2018, Wright was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance. His album Father Figure 3: Love You Long Time won the Grammy for Best Rap Album.
