Arcángel (Austin Agustín Santos), is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who has been making waves in the music industry since he was a teenager. Born in New York City and raised in Puerto Rico, Arcángel started his career as a member of the rap group Arcangel y De La Ghetto. His solo career began in 2006 with the release of his debut album “La Maravilla” which featured hit singles such as “Me Prefieres A Mi” and “Ella Quiere Beber”. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies. In 2009, Arcángel released his second studio album “The Last Don” which was also certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies. This album contained some of his most popular songs such as “Me Prefieres A Mi (Remix)” featuring Don Omar and Daddy Yankee and “Flow Violento” featuring Yaga & Mackie.
His third studio album titled “Sentimiento, Elegancia & Maldad” was released in 2013 and received critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. It featured hit singles such as “Hasta Abajo” featuring Yandel and “Por Amar Se Da Todo” featuring J Alvarez. In 2015, Arcángel released his fourth studio album titled “Los Favoritos: La Formula Volumen 1″ which featured hit singles such as "Po' Encima" featuring Bryant Myers and "Ahora Dice" featuring Chris Jeday and J Balvin. He followed this up with his fifth studio album titled "Los Favoritos: La Formula Volumen 2″ which included some of his biggest hits to date including "Tu No Vive Asi" featuring Bad Bunny and Ozuna, "50 Sombras de Austin" featuring De La Ghetto, Almighty and Noriel, and "Vamos A Darle Con Todo". In 2020 he released two albums - one titled "El Fenomeno: Reloaded" which included hits like "TBT", "Tatuajes", and "Mala Suerte", and another called "La Maravilla Remixed".
Arcángel's success has earned him numerous awards throughout his career including five Latin Grammy Awards for Best Urban Music Album for Sentimiento Elegancia y Maldad (2013), Los Favoritos: La Formula Volumen 1 (2015), Los Favoritos: La Formula Volumen 2 (2017), El Fenomeno Reloaded (2020), and El Fenomeno Remixed (2020). Additionally, he has won four Billboard Latin Music Awards for Hot Latin Song of The Year for Me Prefieras A Mi Remix (2009), Tu No Vive Asi (2018), Po' Encima Remix(2019), and Ahora Dice Remix(2019).
