The Indications is an American band made up of singer Durand Jones, singer/drummer Aaron Frazer, and guitarist Blake Rhein. The group focuses on contemporary R&B and soul music.
Early in the 2010s, Durand Jones and Blake Rhein and Aaron Frazer, two students at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, began to collaborate musically because of their shared love of vintage soul 45s and songwriting. After some time, the duo decided to start a band, and The Indications were born.
The group's debut album, American Love Call, was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. The album was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Shawn Everett and featured contributions from members of Lucius, Warpaint, and Hiss Golden Messenger.
In 2020, The Indications released their sophomore album, We're All Gonna Die. The album was once again produced by Shawn Everett and featured guest appearances from Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tank and the Bangas, and Naughty Professor.
The Indications have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, performing at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, and SXSW. The band has also been featured on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts and CBS This Morning: Saturday.
