Undercover is an American Christian punk band based in Fullerton, California, formed in the early 1980s by Joey "Ojo" Taylor and James "Gym" Nicholson. The band has had a long and successful career, having released eight studio albums, two live albums, and several compilations. Undercover's music combines elements of punk rock, ska, reggae, metal, and pop. They are best known for their hits such as "Every Breath You Take", "The World Is Not Enough", and "We Are the Young". Undercover has been nominated for numerous awards throughout their career including a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for their album To Live & Die In CA (1997). They have also won multiple Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association including Artist of the Year (1993) and Song of the Year (1994). Their influence on Christian music is undeniable; they were one of the first bands to bring punk rock into the mainstream Christian music scene.
Since its formation in 1983, Undercover has gone on to release eight studio albums: To Live & Die In CA (1997), Unveiled (1999), All Eyes On Me (2002), No Limits (2003), Still Not Satisfied (2006), Invitation To Dance (2009), Love Is The Answer (2012), and We Are One (2015). Each album brought something new to its sound while still holding to its roots in punk rock. They have also released two live albums: Live At Cornerstone Festival '99 (1999) and Alive At Cornerstone Festival '03 (2003). These albums feature some of Undercover’s most beloved songs performed live. In 2021, Undercover announced that they would be embarking on a 2023 tour with dates across North America. This will be the band’s first full-length tour since 2015 when they toured in support of We Are One.
