Luis Vasquez, an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from Oakland, California is behind the scene of creation for The Soft Moon. His genre has been described as post-punk, darkwave, minimal wave and industrial rock.
Vasquez started the group as a solo project in 2009. Prior to his debut Self Titled LP's release, Vasquez focused his attention towards assembling a band around his project with the purpose of giving a full sensory experience within the framework of live performance. He released two singles, "Breathe the Fire" followed by "Parallels", while working on it. The Soft Moon use visual components on stage to go along with performances, many of them feature light displays.
