Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, formed in 1999. The band's current line-up comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist Tim McIlrath, lead guitarist Zach Blair, bassist Joe Principe, and drummer Brandon Barnes. Since its formation, the band has released nine studio albums, two live albums, one DVD, and 17 singles. The band's eighth studio album, Wolves, was released on June 9, 2017. Rise Against was formed in 1999 by McIlrath, Principe, and former drummer Toni Tintari. The band released its debut EP three months later, titled Transistor Revolt. The album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and featured "Re-Education (Through Labor)", which became the band's second single to crack the top 40 of the Hot 100, peaking at number 37. In 2011, Rise Against released its sixth studio album, Endgame. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and featured "Help Is on the Way", which peaked at number 39 on the Hot 100. In 2014, Rise Against released its seventh studio album, The Black Market. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and featured "I Don't Want to Be Here Anymore", which peaked at number 23 on the Hot 100, becoming Rise Against's highest-charting single to date.
