Midtown is an American pop punk band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States. The band was formed in 2006 by Ghazal Abbasi and Jay Singh, who were later joined by Alex Magero, Andrew Tamminga, and Greg Whelan. The band's self-titled debut EP was released on May 19, 2007.
Students from Rutgers University Gabe Saporta (vocals/bass), Rob Hitt (drums), and Tyler Rann (guitar/vocals) created Midtown in 1998. The band's name is derived from the nickname of the city of New Brunswick, where the members attended school.
The band released their debut album, The Truth About Mars, in 2001 on Drive-Thru Records. The album was produced by Chris Badami and recorded at Portrait Studios in Montclair, New Jersey. It peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
The band's second album, For Young Hollywood, was released in 2003. The album was produced by Paul Leavitt and recorded at Portrait Studios. It peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

The band's fourth album, Forget What You Know, was released in 2006. The album was produced by Howard Benson and recorded at Bay 7 Studios in Los Angeles, California. It peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
The band's fifth album, Pieces of the Puzzle, was released in 2008. The album was produced by John Feldmann and recorded at Pulse Recording Studio in Los Angeles, California. It peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
The band's sixth album, Last Night in Town, was released in 2010. The album was produced by Cameron Webb and recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California. It peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
The band announced their breakup on October 31, 2013.
