Wolfgang is a rock band from the Philippines that was established in January 1992. The band is composed of brothers Jerick and Jason Fernandez, along with their cousin Neil "Jam" Gumban.
In January 1992, brothers Jerick and Jason Fernandez, along with their cousin Neil "Jam" Gumban, formed a band which they named Wolfgang. The name was inspired by the character of Maximilian "Max" Schreck from the 1922 German horror film Nosferatu.
The band began performing at various clubs and events in Manila. They quickly gained a following among Manila's rock music fans.
In 1993, the band released their self-titled debut album. The album was a success, and spawned the hit single "Someday", which became one of the most popular rock songs in the Philippines.
The band's second album, We Are Wolves, was released in 1995. The album was another success, and includes the singles "Alive" and "In Dreams".
In 1997, the band released their third album, Black Holes and Revelations. The album was another success, and includes the singles "Breathe" and "Falling Away from Me".
The band's fourth album, Fahrenheit, was released in 1999. The album was another success, and includes the singles "Into the Fire" and "Forever".
The band's fifth album, Metamorphosis, was released in 2001. The album was another success, and includes the singles "Lullaby" and "In Your Eyes".
In 2003, the band released their sixth album, The Promise. The album was another success, and includes the singles "The One" and "Killing Me Softly".
In 2006, the band released their seventh album, Cutting Edge. The album was another success, and includes the singles "Scream" and "Human".
The band has also released three live albums, Alive in 2005, World War III in 2007, and Live in Tokyo in 2009.
In 2013, the band released their eighth album, 8, which includes the singles "This Is the Life" and "Raise Your Glass".
The band's ninth album, Made In The Philippines, was released in 2016. The album includes the single "We Are The Champions".
Wolfgang's musical style is a combination of alternative rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. The band is known for their energetic live performances, which often include stunts and pyrotechnics.
Wolfgang has won several awards, including the MTV Philippines Viewer's Choice Award, the Myx Music Award for Best Rock Video, and the NU 107 Rock Awards for Song of the Year.
The band is currently signed to MCA Music Inc. in the Philippines and Universal Music Group internationally.
