The Lettermen formed in high school in 1951. Their first hit was "The Way You Look Tonight" in 1961. The group has had two dozen Top 40 hits and 10 gold albums.
The Lettermen's version of "Theme from A Summer Place" reached Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961, selling over one million copies and earning a gold disc. It was awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1999.
The Lettermen have been together for over sixty years and continue to perform concerts around the world. The group has eighteen gold and five platinum albums. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.
The Lettermen Society Convention took place at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on December 9 and 10, 2012. Along with ticketed spectators, they went to the soundcheck and Lettermen Holiday Show in the casino showroom. The 31st annual convention was commemorated at this event.
