She & Him is an American musical duo made up of singer-songwriter Zooey Deschanel and musician M. Ward. They first came together in 2006 in Portland, Oregon, and released their debut album Volume One the following year on Merge Records. The album was met with positive reviews and led to their appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman and an opening spot for Broken Bells.
The duo's second album, Volume Two, was released in 2010 and again received critical acclaim, appearing on several year-end best-of lists.

On April 28, 2018, the duo announced their fifth album, "Need to Feel Your Love", which was released on July 13, 2018. The album's lead single, "The Sun is Shining Down on Me", was released on May 18, 2018.
In March 2019, the duo announced their sixth album, "I Can Hear Music", which was released on April 30, 2019. The album's lead single, "Me and You", was released on March 29, 2019.
The duo has also composed music for several films and television shows, including "(500) Days of Summer"," Elf"," Yes Man", and "New Girl". They have also contributed to the soundtracks of several video games, including LittleBigPlanet 2 and Trine 2.
