Richard Seguin is a Québécois songwriter, musician and singer. Seguin was born in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. He began his musical career as a member of the group Les Séguins d'Abord, which he formed with his brothers Denis and Robert. The group released two albums, "Les Séguins d'Abord" and "En Famille", before disbanding in 1984.
Seguin released his first solo album, "Le Dernier Romantique", in 1985. The album was a commercial and critical success, and won Seguin the Félix Award for Best Male Artist of the Year. He followed up with the albums "Pas de Deux" (1986), "Les Aventures d'un Homme Ordinaire" (1987) and "Aimer" (1989). Seguin has won several prestigious awards throughout his career, including the Société des auteurs et compositeurs du Québec's Grand Prix du disque in 1985 and 1986, and the Félix Award for Male Artist of the Year in 1985 and 1991. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2000 and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
