The group was formed in 2004 as part of the cast of Televisa's telenovela Rebelde, which aired on Mexican television. The members included Anahí, Alfonso Herrera, Christopher Uckermann, Maite Perroni, Dulce María, and Christian Chávez. After the success of the telenovela, RBD released their first studio album Rebelde (2004), which was followed by Nuestro Amor (2005), Celestial (2006), and Empezar Desde Cero (2007).
