Peaches is a Canadian electronic musician and performance artist based in Berlin. She rose to prominence in the early 2000s with her self-produced music and provocative live shows. Her musical style combines punk, hip-hop, electronic, and new wave to create something unique and infectious. Since the release of her debut album The Teaches of Peaches in 2000, she has released six more studio albums, collaborated with the likes of Iggy Pop and Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), toured extensively around the world, appeared as a guest on talk shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Last Call with Carson Daly, performed at high-profile festivals like Coachella Music Festival, earned several awards including JUNO Award for Best Dance Recording for Impeach My Bush (2006) and Independent Music Awards for Innovator Award (2017). As far as live performances go Peaches' shows are typically described as highly energetic featuring acrobatics, elaborate costumes created by herself & visual effects complemented by video projections of herself playing with famous videos such as David Bowie's Ashes To Ashes. In 2004 Peaches was also invited to participate in the Whitney Biennial exhibition where she showcased her work together with 23 artists from all over the world. A year later she took over London's Institute of Contemporary Arts to perform in a three-day event that featured interactive theatre plays about sexuality & gender borders presented on stage by her band called The Herms which featured members like Merrill Nisker & Sim Cain among others. In recent years Peaches embarked on multiple world tours performing both original material & covers of bands ranging from Depeche Mode to Yazoo accompanied by guest musicians from all over Europe & America allowing fans to experience true Rock 'n' Roll.
