Matt Rogers is an American comedian, actor, writer, podcaster, television host, and recording artist. He was born on March 5, 1990 in Long Island, New York. He attended Islip High School and was named prom king at his senior prom. He then earned a BFA in dramatic writing from New York University. He became interested in comedy and improvisation while studying at Upright Citizens Brigade. He met his future co-host Bowen Yang at NYU and they started the pop culture podcast Las Culturistas in 2016. Rogers has appeared on various television shows as a guest or a host. He was one of the finalists on the third season of American Idol in 2004. He hosted Really Big Things on Discovery Channel in 2007 and There Goes the Neighborhood in 2009. He also hosted Beat the Chefs on Game Show Network from 2012 to 2013. In 2020, he hosted two television competition series: Gayme Show on Quibi and Haute Dog on HBO Max. In 2021, he starred in the comedy series I Love That for You and had a supporting role in the film Fire Island1. He also voiced several characters on Our Cartoon President and Q-Force.
Rogers has released several albums as a singer-songwriter. His debut album The Matt Rogers Show was released in 2013 under his own label. His second album The Matt Rogers Show II was released in 2015 under Capitol Records. His third album The Matt Rogers Show III was released in 2017 under Capitol Records. His fourth album The Matt Rogers Show IV was released in 2020 under Capitol Records. His latest album Have You Heard of Christmas? was released in November 2023 under Capitol Records. Rogers has won several awards for his work as a comedian and an actor. He won the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Music Collaboration with Ed Sheeran for “Numb” in 2023.He won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for Have You Heard of Christmas? in 2024. He won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for Las Culturistas with Bowen Yang in 2025. Rogers performs at various venues around the world as part of his comedy tours or his musical shows.
