Loveless, the Boston-based indie rock band, was formed in 1997 by Dave Wanamaker and Pete Armata, both of the 1990s rock band Expanding Man. Jen Trynin and Tom Polce from Letters to Cleo were also part of the group. The band released their first album, Loveless, in 1998 on Q Division Records. The album featured singles “Sick of Myself” and “Better Than Nothing” which gained them a devoted fan base. They followed up their debut with 2000’s critically acclaimed Ready to Fight which included their hit single “Everything You Wanted”. In 2003, Loveless released their third album entitled Don't Look Down on Q Division Records. This record featured some of their most successful songs such as "Waiting for the Sun" and "The Long Goodbye". It was well-received by fans and critics alike, leading to a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 2004 Boston Music Awards. In 2006, they released their fourth album A New Kind of Army on SpinART Records which included singles “A New Kind Of Army” and “Rise”.
Loveless has been recognized for its success with numerous awards including Best Rock Group at the 2002 Boston Music Awards as well as being named one of Rolling Stone's Top Ten Unsigned Bands in 1999. Their music has been featured in films such as Me Myself & Irene (2000) and television shows like Dawson's Creek (1999). In addition to being a popular live act in the mid-2000s, Loveless has also toured extensively throughout Europe and North America over the years.
