Linda Eder born February 3, 1961 is an American singer and actress. She has toured in musical theater and has had leading roles in Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Dracula the Musical. Linda Eder began her singing career in small clubs in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. She made her Broadway debut in the short-lived musical Baby, featuring Debbie Gibson and John Stamos. She rose to prominence in the 1990s with a string of hits including "It's No Secret Anymore" and "Someone Like You". Eder sang in Minneapolis nightclubs and at Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, prior to her work on Broadway. She won Star Search in 1988, and Frank Wildhorn was impressed by her performance there. She signed with RCA Records and appeared in the 1990 world premiere and 1995–96 national tour of Wildhorn's musical Svengali, the 1997 Broadway revival of Jekyll & Hyde, and the 2003 World Premiere of Camille Claudel. Eder produced a number of CDs on both Angel Records and Atlantic Records during that time. Having one kid, Jake, Wildhorn and Eder wed in 1998 and divorced in 2004. In 1996–1997, Eder earned the Theater World Award for Best Broadway Debut for his work in Jekyll & Hyde. Rosie O'Donnell and Kathie Lee Gifford, two talk show hosts who were in the audience that night at New York's renowned Carnegie Hall, noticed her after her debut solo performance. She then made appearances on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, and The Late Show with David Letterman.
