Ian Moss is an Australian rock musician from Alice Springs who has been playing guitar since the age of 14. He rose to fame in the mid-1980s as lead guitarist and vocalist for Cold Chisel, one of Australia's most successful bands. After leaving Cold Chisel in 1988, he embarked on a solo career that has seen him release seven studio albums and tour extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The first two albums released by Ian Moss were Matchbook (1989) and Worlds Away (1992). These albums featured some of his best-known songs such as "Tucker's Daughter", "Telephone Booth", and "Out of the Fire". In 1993, he released his third album Petrolhead which was certified gold in Australia. This album spawned the hit single "Never Before" which reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart. His fourth album Let's All Get Together (1995) was also certified gold with its single "Shine" reaching number five on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Over the years, Ian Moss has won numerous awards including five ARIA Music Awards (four for Best Male Artist and one for Best Cover Art) as well as an APRA Award for Most Performed Australasian Work in 1996. He has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards over his career - Song Of The Year ("Tucker's Daughter"), Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal ("Four Walls"), and Best Music Video ("Four Walls"). Ian Moss continues to tour extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Europe with dates planned through 2023. His live performances feature a mix of original material as well as covers of classic songs from artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Tom Petty, and more.
