Greyson Michael Chance is an American singer and songwriter who got his start in music at a young age. He began playing the piano at age nine and taught himself how to play guitar, drums, and bass.
On April 28, 2010, Chance uploaded a cover of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" to YouTube. For almost two weeks, the video received few views. On May 13, 2010, Ellen DeGeneres featured Chance's cover on her show and gave him a standing ovation.
Following his performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Greyson's "Paparazzi" cover became a viral hit, receiving over 36 million views on YouTube as of September 2020. His success on YouTube led to him being signed to DeGeneres' record label eleveneleven and Interscope Records.

In July 2015, it was announced that Chance would be starring in his own reality show on AOL, Greyson Chance: Waiting for Lightning. The show followed Chance as he prepared to release his third studio album and go on tour.
On October 9, 2016, Chance released his third studio album, Somewhere Over My Head. The album's lead single, "Hit & Run", was released on August 5, 2016.
In October 2017, Chance announced that he had signed with Virgin Records. In December 2017, he released his first single on the label, "Good as Gold".
On September 7, 2018, Chance released his fourth studio album, Portraits. The album's lead single, "Not So Bad in LA", was released on August 3, 2018.
In 2019, Chance appeared as a judge on the reality competition series The Launch.
On February 14, 2020, Chance released his fifth studio album, Truth Be Told. The album's lead single, "Far Away from Here", was released on January 10, 2020.
