Gorilla is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2006 by lead singer and songwriter Brian Miller, the group has gained a large following due to its unique blend of alternative rock and pop-punk influences. Since its inception, Gorilla has released three studio albums: Above Sea Level (2007), Things Happen (2011), and Runaway Trains (2015). The band's sound encompasses a range of styles including indie rock, pop-punk, emo, and post-hardcore. They have been compared to acts such as Alkaline Trio, Jimmy Eat World, and The Ataris for their signature mix of fast tempos, catchy melodies, and heartfelt lyrics. Gorilla’s debut album Above Sea Level was met with critical acclaim upon its release in 2007 with many fans taking to online forums to discuss the record’s songs.

At the 2023 BET Awards, Glorilla, the talented rapper from Memphis, delivered an incredible performance of his hit track, "Lick or Sum". She received nominations in several categories, including Best New Artist, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Album of the Year for "Anyways, Life's Great...", Video of the Year for "Tomorrow 2," and Best Collaboration for "Tomorrow 2" and "F.N.F." Glorilla recently released the music video for their song "Lick or Sum!" in the previous month. The track features samples from DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, and Project Pat's popular 1999 hit "Slob on My Knob." In March, a tragic incident occurred at Glorilla's concert in Rochester, New York, resulting in the loss of three lives due to a crowd crush.
