The Four Voices were a 1950s vocal harmony quartet from Tennessee. They released several singles on Columbia Records. The Four Voices were a group that Allan Chase (tenor), Sal Mayo (tenor), Bill McBride (baritone), and Frank Fosta (bass-baritone). They specialized in ice-skating shows and revues, as well as Arthur Godfrey's television program. The group was put together in early 1957 by Columbia Records producer Hugo Peretti.
The Four Voices had their first hit with "Chanson D'Amour" in late 1957. The song reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They follow up with "Be My Love" which peaked at number 29 on the Hot 100. "Chanson D'Amour" sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. The group's third and final hit was "Auf Wiedersehn, Sweetheart" in early 1958. The song reached number 14 on the Hot 100.
The Four Voices disbanded in early 1959. Allan Chase and Sal Mayo went on to join The Hilltoppers. Frank Fosta joined The Treniers and Bill McBride became a solo artist.
