He is best known for his work as a singer-songwriter, although he has also been active as a producer, engineer, and mixer. His music often draws comparisons to that of Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty. Robitaille began his musical career in the early 1990s, performing in various local bands and releasing a number of independent albums. He gained widespread recognition with the release of his 2007 album The Australian, which was nominated for a Juno Award and won the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Album. Robitaille has released five studio albums, two live albums, and one EP. His most recent album, Horizon Line, was released in 2016. Robitaille is currently touring in support of Horizon Line.
