On December 5, 1998, Conan Lee Gray was born in Lemon Grove, California, to a father who is primarily Irish and a Japanese mother. He was given his middle name, "Lee", after his paternal grandmother. When he was four years old, his parents divorced and he was raised primarily by his father and stepmother in San Diego's North County region. On April 16, 2020, Gray released "The Crushing Weight of Stress (The Secret to Letting Go)", a song about anxiety and depression. All proceeds from the song will be donated to The Jed Foundation, a mental health organization for young adults.
