In 2003, producers Olivier Libaux and Marc Collin started the band Nouvelle Vague in Paris. They reinvented punk and new wave classics with bossa nova arrangements. The name of the project means "New Wave," which is a nod to their unique approach of mixing 1960s Brazilian rhythms with 1980s alternative tunes. Camille and Mélanie Pain were two of the first singers chosen from the French indie movement. They had training in jazz and classical music, which gave the covers a new, emotional point of view.

Their first album, Nouvelle Vague (2004), with successes including "Just Can't Get Enough" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart." It reached number 56 on the French Albums Chart. Their next album, Bande à Part (2006), had the songs "Blue Monday" and "Guns of Brixton," which made them even more popular around the world. Nouvelle Vague played at big events like Roskilde and the Montreux Jazz Festival, worked with musicians like Martin Gore and Alain Chamfort, and became known for turning post-punk songs into soft, sad bossa nova versions.

Nouvelle Vague is still touring Europe and North America today, playing hits and new songs from subsequent albums like Couleurs Sur Paris (2010). Their live concerts feature intimate stage settings, soft drums, old keyboards, and rotating female vocals that keep spectators interested. The mix of jazz-influenced beats and well-known songs makes for a unique ambiance. Get your Nouvelle Vague Tickets on Yadara today to see their unique sound live and make sure you have a good time.
