Brulé is a new-age/worldbeat music group originating from contemporary Native Americans in South Dakota. In total, they have sold over one million CDs worldwide and won various awards. The group is made up of five accomplished musicians: Michael Ballantyne (vocals, percussion), Jay Red Eagle (drums, vocals), Joey Michaels (keyboards, vocals), Phillip Tallman (bass, guitar, vocals), and Lynn Thompson (flute, saxophone, percussion). All five members are of Native American heritage; Ballantyne and Red Eagle of the Lakota Sioux tribe, Michaels and Tallman of the Cherokee nation, and Thompson of the Seneca-Cayuga tribe.
