Zebra is a hard rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, founded in 1975. The band consists of Randy Jackson (vocals and guitar), Felix Hanemann (bass and keyboards), and Guy Gelso (drums). Zebra's music has been described as a blend of progressive rock, classic rock, and heavy metal. Their first album, Zebra, was released in 1983 and featured the hit singles "Who's Behind the Door" and "Tell Me What You Want". The album was certified gold by the RIAA. After their debut album, Zebra released their second album No Tellin' Lies in 1984 which included the hit single "Bears". This album was also certified gold by the RIAA. In 1985, Zebra band released their third studio album 3.V which was certified platinum by the RIAA for selling over one million copies. The song "Take Your Fingers From My Hair" became a Top 40 hit on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. In 1987 they released their fourth studio album IV which featured the hit singles "Wait Until the Summer's Gone" and "The La La Song". This album peaked at number twenty-five on Billboard 200 chart.
Following this success, Zebra won an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in 1988. After a brief hiatus during the 90s, the Zebra rock band got reunited in 2000 to perform at several festivals including Rocklahoma and Wacken Open Air Festival. In 2003, they released their fifth studio album titled Heavier Than Thou which included the single "Slow Down". This single reached #1 on both Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart! Since then they have gone on multiple tours across Europe and America receiving rave reviews from fans all over the world for their unique sound that blends classic rock with heavy metal elements.
