Thomas Cummings better known under the stage name Tommy Vext is an American heavy metal singer and songwriter known as the former lead vocalist of Bad Wolves, Divine Heresy, and Westfield Massacre. Tommy Vext was born in New York and raised in Santa Cruz, California. He began playing guitar at the age of 13. He started his first band when he was 15 years old. In 2006, he fronted the metalcore band Westfield Massacre. The band released one EP and two albums before breaking up in 2010. In 2012, he joined the metal band Divine Heresy as their lead singer. The band released one album before disbanding in 2014. In 2016, he joined Bad Wolves as their lead singer. The band has released two albums, Disobey (2018) and N.A.T.I.O.N. (2019). Vext is currently a member of the supergroup SONS OF APOLLO, formed in 2017 by Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian, Bumblefoot, Billy Sheehan, and Jeff Scott Soto.
The group has released two albums, Psychotic Symphony (2017) and MMXX (2020). He has also filled in as the lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch on multiple occasions, most notably when their lead singer Ivan Moody left the band temporarily in 2015. He released his debut album, Westfield Massacre, in 2014. Tommy joined several other bands such as Westfield Massacre, Snot, and Bad Wolves. With Snot, the Tommy Vext albums are "Get Some" and "Strait Up". The single "Sticky Situation" off Get Some peaked at number one on the US Mainstream Rock Charts, becoming his first big hit. Bad Wolves is another huge success story for Tommy Vext music, who made hits like "Zombie", a cover of The Cranberries classic song that went Diamond in two countries and Platinum in four countries. In 2016 Tommy Vext solo project is "Vext". With this project, he released two full-length albums; “The Sacred Takeover” (2019) & “This Is Anarchy” (2020). Both albums featured some collaborations with heavyweights like Max Cavalera from Soulfly/ Sepultura and Ryan McCombs from Soil/ Drowning Pool.
