The Clairvoyants began as an Iron Maiden tribute band in 2001 and have since grown to be the most well-liked group in Italy. The band performs live an average of 60 times a year in the most well-known rock venues in Italy. In the summer, they also play at some of the most significant national and even worldwide rock festivals. The band was the only Italian band chosen to perform at the Iron Maiden Tribute Band World Convention in Holland in January 2008.
The band has shared the stage over the past few years with some major international metal stars. Each performance by Timo Kotipelto, Blaze Bayley, Doro Pesch, Jorn Lande, David De Feis, Edward Pursino, Andre Matos, or Dennis Stratton drew rave reviews from both fans and members of the press.
Steve Harris, the band's bassist and main songwriter, started Iron Maiden in Leyton, East London, in 1975. Despite being flexible in the early years of the band, Harris, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers have made up the lineup for the most of its existence. There are 17 studio albums, 13 live albums, four EPs, and seven compilations among the band's 41 albums. Additionally, they have released 20 video albums and 47 singles. Iron Maiden's music can be heard in numerous other video games, and the band has two electronic games with soundtracks that have been produced.
Iron Maiden first found fame in the early 1980s as forerunners of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. Following a number of lineup changes, the band went on to release a number of Platinum and Gold albums in the UK and the US, including their 1980 self-titled debut, Killers in 1981, The Number of the Beast in 1982, Piece of Mind in 1983, Powerslave in 1984, Live After Death in 1985, Somewhere in Time in 1986, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son in 1988, No Prayer for the Dying in 1990, and Fear of the Dark in 1992.
