Snot is a hard rock/metal band that has been around since 1995. The band was formed in Santa Barbara, California, and consists of five members: James "Jyro" Xhausted (vocals), Mike Doling (guitar), John Fahnestock (bass), Jamie Miller (drums), and Lynn Strait (vocals). Snot's sound is characterized by aggressive riffs, pounding drums, and intense vocals which have earned them a dedicated fanbase. They rose to fame with their debut album Get Some in 1997, which included the singles "Stoopid" and "Joyride". This album was certified gold in the United States and earned Snot two Grammy Award nominations for Best Metal Performance. The band released their second album, Strait Up, in 2000 which included the single "Deadfall". This album was certified gold as well but did not garner much critical acclaim. After a brief hiatus due to personal issues, Snot returned with their third studio album, Seven Deadly Sins in 2003. This record featured the hit single "Absent", which reached number one on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. It also became the first song from an independent label to reach number one on this chart since 1991! Snot has gone on to release several more albums throughout their career including No Name No Color (2006) and Live at CBGBs: NYC (2007). They continue to tour extensively around the world playing shows for their dedicated fans.
