Reverend and the Makers are an English rock band fronted by Jon McClure, nicknamed "The Reverend." They released their debut album, The State of Things in 2007 which helped them gain success in Britain. One of their most popular songs off that album, "Heavyweight Champion of the World" made it to UK's top 10 single. They've released 3 more albums since then, with the latest one being ThirtyTwo which was released in 2014. The band consists of Jon McClure as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Ed Cosens on bass, Ryan Jarman on drums, Joe Moskowitz on keyboards, and Zachariah Whitehead on guitar. They've been through a few lineup changes since their formation in 2005, with the most recent one being the addition of Whitehead in 2013. Reverend and the Makers have punk rock and indie rock sound, with elements of pop and dance music.
Their lyrics often deal with social and political issues, as well as personal relationships. In 2009, the band released their second album, A French Kiss in the Chaos. Their popularity led to an invitation to support Oasis on their final tour. The band's third studio album was @Reverend_Makers (2012), and their fourth release, ThirtyTwo dropped in 2014. The Reverend and the Makers have toured with Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, and many more. They've also headlined their tours across the UK.
