Quiet Riot is an American heavy metal band formed in 1973. The band rose to fame in the 1980s with their classic hits, "Cum On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health." They are considered to be one of the first bands to bring heavy metal music into mainstream culture. The original lineup included vocalist Kevin DuBrow, drummer Drew Forsyth, guitarist Randy Rhoads, and bassist Kelly Garni. After the release of their debut album Quiet Riot in 1977, they quickly gained a loyal following among fans of hard rock and heavy metal. The band's second album Metal Health was released in 1983 and it catapulted them into stardom with its iconic single "Cum On Feel the Noize." In 1988, tragedy struck when founding member Randy Rhoads passed away in a plane crash while on tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Despite this loss, Quiet Riot continued on with new members joining the band over time such as Frankie Banali taking over as drummer and Carlos Cavazo replacing Rhoads on guitar. With their new lineup intact, Quiet Riot released their fifth studio album titled QR which went on to become their highest-charting album in America reaching number 5 on Billboard 200. Quiet Riot has since become one of the most iconic bands in rock history with numerous awards under their belt including two Grammy nominations and induction into Hollywood's Rock Walk Hall Of Fame in 2011.
