Poison is an American glam metal band formed in 1983, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The most successful incarnation of the band consists of lead singer Bret Michaels, guitarist C.C. DeVille, bassist Bobby Dall, and drummer Rikki Rockett. Poison has sold over 45 million records worldwide and has charted 10 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and a number-one single, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". The band's breakthrough debut album was the multi-platinum Look What the Cat Dragged In. They achieved their greatest success with their second album Open Up and Say...Ahh!, which became the band's most successful album, being certified 5x platinum in the US. The band continued to tour and record music throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Their studio album was released in 2002 and titled Hollyweird. Poison has received several awards over its career including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 for its contributions to the music industry. The band has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards for Best Hard Rock Performance as well as MTV Video Music Awards for Best Stage Performance and Best Metal/Hard Rock Video.
