Moonspell is a Portuguese gothic metal band that has been a major force in the metal music scene since its formation in 1992. The group released their first EP, Under the Moonspell, in 1994 and followed up with their debut album, Wolfheart, a year later. This album featured some of the most iconic songs from the Moonspell band such as “Wolfshade” and “Love Crime”. Since then, Moonspell has gone on to release numerous albums and EPs that have all been met with critical acclaim. Their second album Irreligious (1996) was an instant classic that spawned hits such as “Opium” and “Alma Mater”. Moonspell continued to create masterpieces throughout the years with albums like Darkness and Hope (2001), The Antidote (2003), Memorial (2006) and Moonspell Night Eternal (2008). They also released two live albums: Lusitanian Metal (2005) and Alpha Noir/Omega White (2012). Many of their releases have received awards including Best Album at Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards for Memorial in 2006.
