Dance Gavin Dance is an American rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. The band has released eight studio albums and one EP since their formation, with their most recent album being Jackpot Juicer (2020). They have been nominated for several awards, including the Alternative Press Music Awards for Best Underground Band in 2009 and 2011. The band consists of vocalists Jon Mess and Tilian Pearson, guitarists Will Swan and Tim Feerick, bassist Tim Feerick, drummer Matthew Mingus, and keyboardist Josh Benton. Their music style is often described as post-hardcore or experimental rock. They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe over the years, playing alongside acts such as A Day to Remember, The Fall of Troy, Chiodos, Underoath, Circa Survive, and more. Their debut album Downtown Battle Mountain was released in 2007 to critical acclaim. It featured singles such as "And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman" and "Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most".
The album was followed by Happiness (2009), Downtown Battle Mountain II (2011), Acceptance Speech (2013), Instant Gratification (2015), Mothership (2016) Artificial Selection (2018), and Jackpot Juicer (2020). Dance Gavin Dance has also released several EPs over the years including Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean (2008), Tree City Sessions (2010), and Strawberry Swisher Pt 1 & 2 (2014). They have also released two live albums titled Live at Bamboozle 2010: West Coast Riot Fest Edition (2010) and Afterburner: Live In London 2020 (2020). In addition to their music career they have also made appearances on television shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2008 and Conan in 2015. They have also been featured in various video games such as Rock Band 3 in 2010 and Guitar Hero 5 in 2009. Dance Gavin Dance continues to tour around the world today.
