The Swedish heavy metal band Avatar has been rocking stages since its formation in Gothenburg in 2001. Led by Johannes Eckerström and Jonas Jarlsby, Avatar is known for its intense live shows and theatrical performances. The band's music is a combination of melodic death metal, progressive metal, and groove metal. In 2016, they released Feathers & Flesh which was their most ambitious project yet - a concept album based on an original story written by Johannes Eckerström! This album earned them two nominations at the Grammys Awards - Best Hard Rock/Metal Album and Best Music Video. In 2020 they released their seventh studio album Hunter Gatherer which featured singles such as "Silence in The Age Of Apes" and "A Statue Of The King". The band continues to tour around Europe including dates in Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and more!
