Atreyu is a heavy metal band that formed in 1998 in Orange County, California. The band consists of lead vocalist Alex Varkatzas, lead guitarist Dan Jacobs, rhythm guitarist Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller. Atreyu has released seven studio albums to date, including their latest release In Our Wake (2018). Their debut album Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses (2002) was met with critical acclaim and commercial success, earning them a spot on the Billboard 200 chart. This was followed by their second album The Curse (2004), which featured hit singles such as "Right Side of the Bed" and "Bleeding Mascara". The band's third album A Death-Grip On Yesterday (2006) peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold in the US. Atreyu's fourth album Lead Sails Paper Anchor (2007) was even more successful than its predecessor; it debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold in the US. The band also earned two Grammy Award nominations for Best Metal Performance for their single "Falling Down".
Atreyu's fifth album Congregation of the Damned (2009) peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and included hit singles such as "Gallows" and "Storm To Pass". Following this release, Atreyu went on an extended hiatus until they returned with their sixth studio album Long Live (2015). This album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured hit singles such as "Live to Labor" and "Do You Know Who You Are?". In 2018, Atreyu released their seventh studio album In Our Wake which debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. It included hit singles such as “Anger Left Behind”, “The Time Is Now” and “In Our Wake”. This year marks 20 years since Atreyu first formed; to celebrate this momentous milestone they are embarking on a world tour with over 30 shows planned! In 2023, they will be performing all of their classic hits from over two decades of music-making plus some brand-new material from their upcoming studio album.
